In a groundbreaking collaboration, Broadcast Solutions, a leading media systems integration group in Europe, has joined forces with NEP Germany to introduce an innovative remote production environment for the new sports network, Dyn Media. This strategic partnership aims to elevate the broadcasting landscape in Germany, offering viewers a diverse range of sports content beyond traditional soccer coverage. It’s a move that’s going to change the country’s broadcast industry and open up new market niches. Dyn Media, spearheaded by Christian Seifert, former CEO of the Bundesliga, in partnership with major publisher Axel Springer, is set to become the go-to destination for German sports fans. With a focus on basketball, handball, volleyball, and table tennis, Dyn Media is poised to revolutionize sports broadcasting in the country. NEP Germany, a well-established name thanks to its production services in the German basketball and handball leagues, has taken the helm of operations for Dyn Media. Leveraging remote production capabilities, NEP Germany has devised a cutting-edge infrastructure comprising six venue kits. These kits, equipped with state-of-the-art technology adhering to the SMPTE ST 2110 standard, ensure seamless transmission of high-quality content from various sports arenas. The compact design of the venue kits allows for swift deployment with each kit fitting into a single VW Crafter van. This not only streamlines the setup process but also significantly reduces operational costs and minimizes the carbon footprint. NEP Germany’s headquarters in Munich will control broadcasts from advanced control rooms outfitted with Grass Valley Kula switchers. These control rooms, supported by a network operation center (NOC), serve as the nerve center for managing signal transmission from multiple venues to Cologne, as well as to cloud and OTT platforms. The NOC facilitates flexible allocation of resources, enabling seamless coordination between production control rooms in Cologne and Munich.
