The Herfindahl Index (HHI), a gauge of competitiveness, highlights a more competitive landscape with a 1718 index in 2022 compared to 2084 in 2017. Several factors stack on top of each other to drive this growth in Germany’s air conditioning industry. The biggest among them is the burgeoning demand for eco-friendly cooling solutions in the face of climate change-induced rising temperatures. This trend is assisted by increasing disposable incomes as well as a booming construction industry.
