From cars to commercial vehicles, Clarios is the driving force behind reliable energy storage. In Hannover, over 1300 professionals contribute to the company's global mission, which spans across 16,000 employees worldwide. Clarios' strong presence in Hannover is deeply rooted in history, dating back to the 1930s when the site belonged to Varta. In 2002, Clarios acquired Varta, solidifying its place in Hannover. As part of this acquisition, Clarios emphasized that Hannover would not only be the location for its European headquarters but also a critical production facility and a center of excellence for state-of-the-art starter batteries. Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge, another significant player in Hannover's automotive landscape, has not only made the city its home but has contributed to its automotive legacy. Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge (VWN) is an independent brand within the Volkswagen group, specializing in designing, manufacturing, and selling light commercial vehicles. These vehicles, including the iconic Transporter, Caddy, Crafter and Amarok series, are produced in Hannover as well as other locations worldwide. With a dedicated workforce of more than 24,000 employees across various sites, including around 15,000 in Hannover, VWN plays a crucial role in the city's economy. In 2022, the eagerly awaited ID. BUZZ electric van rolled off the assembly line in Hannover.
