Изложения в Frankfurt am Main, Germany за Енергия

Frankfurt’s energy industry leads the country in terms of efforts to achieve carbon neutrality and combat climate change. As a thriving economic hub, Frankfurt takes full advantage of its resources and infrastructure to transition towards renewable energy sources, aiming to achieve a 100% renewable energy supply by 2050. Frankfurt’s dedication to environmental sustainability isn’t new at all. In 1983, the city established an energy office within its Building Department; one of the earliest of its kind. The next step came in 1990, when the city created the Energiereferat, the local energy agency and department. In 2015, Frankfurt became one of the first German cities to adopt a comprehensive roadmap for achieving 100% renewable energy supply. This milestone was preceded by a feasibility study conducted by the Fraunhofer research institute, which simulated energy needs up to 2050 and identified various possible scenarios. The Masterplan 100% Klimaschutz outlines strategies and instruments to achieve the goal by 2050. Spearheaded by the municipality’s energy department, the plan emphasizes energy efficiency as the main pillar. The aim is to reduce energy consumption by 50% through building retrofitting, technology adoption and circular economy initiatives. Another major undertaking here involves completing a comprehensive assessment of energy requirements, greenhouse gas emissions, and areas for improvement across sectors. Solar thermal and photovoltaic energy, biomass, and wind power are identified as key renewable sources, with a particular focus on expanding cogeneration units and district heating networks. Frankfurt's proactive stance on renewable energy serves as a model for cities worldwide. By integrating climate protection into its organizational structure and implementing innovative strategies, the city is leading the charge towards a sustainable future.
