Изложения в Taiwan за Цифрови системи

The embedded systems industry in Taiwan has a storied history within the country that’s going as far back as the late 90s. Today, Taiwan has made strides in semiconductor manufacturing and the evolution of System-on-Chip (SoC) techniques. This progress is making it feasible to integrate traditional board-level embedded systems into a single chip, which, yes, presents new challenges, but opens so many opportunities in integrated circuit design and embedded software development. To address challenges, Taiwan’s Ministry of Education has been proactive with the VLSI Circuits and Systems Education Program, which has been running since 1996. This initiative has adopted a comprehensive approach by forming six domain-specific, intercollegiate consortia, with the Embedded Software Consortium focusing on the intricacies of embedded software for SoC systems. The semiconductor industry in Taiwan has experienced remarkable growth over the past few decades, establishing the nation as a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, packaging, and testing. The demand for high-performing, cost-efficient SoC systems is driving the need for a new generation of engineers proficient in IC design, embedded software, and system integration. Phase I of the VLSI CSE Program, from 1996 to 2000, laid the groundwork by establishing fundamental IC design environments at Taiwanese universities. This phase involved setting up or upgrading IC design laboratories, enhancing IC design curricula, and organizing workshops to share teaching experiences. The success of this foundational phase led to the initiation of Phase II in 2001, which continues to focus on more advanced technologies and broader scopes and led to the establishment of the Embedded Software Consortium February in 2004, which addresses the specific challenges of embedded software for SoC systems. SoC systems, with their low cost and high efficiency, are on track to replace most board-level embedded systems.
