Изложения в Sweden за Опаковане и пакетиране

Sweden’s packing and packaging industry relies on five primary materials: glass, rigid metal, rigid plastics, paper & board, and flexible packaging. Among these, flexible packaging is expected to see continued growth due to its cost-effectiveness, adaptability to various product shapes and sizes, and the convenience of resealable closures such as zip-locks. The food sector remains the dominant player in Sweden’s packaging market, accounting for the highest share in 2023. Flexible packaging is particularly prevalent in this sector, as it enhances product shelf life while maintaining ease of use for consumers. The non-alcoholic beverage sector also commands a significant share, further boosting the demand for sustainable and recyclable packaging solutions. Sweden has long been a leader in environmental sustainability, and its packaging industry is no exception. In 2020, paper packaging was the most widely used packaging material, totaling more than 604,000 tonnes. Other major packaging materials included plastic (248,800 tonnes, including PET bottles), glass (233,000 tonnes), wood (207,800 tonnes), and aluminum deposit cans (23,500 tonnes). Despite Sweden’s robust recycling infrastructure, the overall packaging recycling rate of 60.2% still falls slightly below the EU average of 64.3%. However, recycling rates for specific materials vary significantly. Glass packaging achieved an impressive 94% recycling rate, while fiber-based packaging reached approximately 80%. The high recycling rates are largely attributed to Sweden’s stringent producer responsibility regulations, which mandate that manufacturers oversee the collection and recycling of their packaging waste. This framework incentivizes the design of more resource-efficient and environmentally friendly packaging solutions. Swedish policymakers and businesses are working to improve packaging sustainability further. The country’s extended producer responsibility (EPR) system encourages companies to develop innovative solutions that enhance recyclability and reduce the environmental impact of packaging. The ongoing shift toward biodegradable materials, mono-material packaging, and improved life cycle assessments is expected to shape the industry’s future.
