If Taiwan seeks to dominate the Asian market for embedded systems, then Taipei serves as home base for the country’s sophisticated embedded systems industry. Aside from researchers, start-ups and clusters, Taiwan employs another secret weapon – COMPUTEX. The international trade fair for industrial automation, electronics manufacturing and computing proves why Taipei is a pivotal hub for the global technology industry. The event, which saw a significant increase in scale, attracted 85,179 ICT buyers and professionals. Visitors came from Japan, the United States, South Korea, China, and Thailand, underscoring the international allure of this premier B2B technology exhibition. Under the theme “Connecting AI,” COMPUTEX 2024 let everyone know why Taiwan is not to be underestimated on the technology market. In the AI Computing and System Solutions area, industry giants like Acer and ASUS showcased groundbreaking AI applications. Acer’s Swift 14 AI laptop and ASUS’s Vivobook S 15 were among the highlights as they demonstrated AI’s transformative impact on the PC industry. These advancements point towards a future where AI integration in everyday computing becomes the norm. The nascent field of smart mobility was another focal point. The newly introduced smart mobility exhibition area featured comprehensive automotive technology displays. The Taiwan Advanced Automotive Technology Development Association (TADA) spearheaded this initiative, bringing together manufacturers like Pegatron Corporation, Clientron, and Retronix Technology. Their automotive technology theme pavilion showcased state-of-the-art smart cockpit solutions. Taiwan’s significant contributions to advanced communications were prominently featured. Notably, ASUS and ASKEY collaborated to develop 5G enterprise private network solutions, utilizing Microsoft Azure’s dedicated 5G core. Additionally, Pride introduced the AIoT Application Management Platform (NMS-AIoT), a pioneering cross-protocol energy smart management system. COMPUTEX unites the entirety of the Asian market under one roof and draws increased attention to the embedded systems sector in Taipei.
